Dietary fibres protect young woman from breast cancer
Pre-menopausal women who eat 30 or more grams of fibre a day could cut their risk of breast cancer by 52% reports the latest study on breast cancer from International Journal of Epidemiology. 35792 women aged between 35 to 69. were involved in the study that showed that high fibre intake from cereals and fruits, was associated with a significant reduction in the risk of breast cancer amongst pre-menopausal (young) women. The study indicates that a fibre intake of 13 grams or more per day was associated with 41 percent breast cancer risk reduction, compared to 4 grams or less fibre per day.
